TTC - Ross MBA, University of Michigan

Why Ross?

All the best MBA programs offer a broad management education. All emphasize leadership. Most make a point of connecting theory to practice. So what makes Ross different? How can you know if Ross is right for you? The Ross difference is action-based learning. We are committed to an approach to business education that goes beyond studying cases.

Action-Based Learning
Action-based learning is an approach to business education that requires us to continuously create relevant, challenging ways to connect our students with the world of practice.
It informs how our faculty teach, the way our students interact with one another, and how we think about leadership. Our Multidisciplinary Action Program (MAP) is the most distinctive of our action-based learning programs.
It’s an approach to education that looks beyond problem solving to opportunity sensing. It asks you to apply both analytical rigor and your imagination. It asks you to take a leadership role in customizing your own Ross experience.
Leadership
Leadership in business requires the ability to processinformation quickly, articulate a compelling vision, makeeffective decisions, and mobilize an organization to act in the face of challenges presented by an ever-changing global business landscape. But that’s just the start.
Our goal is to prepare you to lead globally diverse teams, consider the role of business in society, and build organizational cultures that foster innovation.
Throughout the 20-month MBA program, Ross Leadership Initiative supplements classroom learning by providing a set of experiences and explorations that will help you understand your own strengths and develop into an effective leader
Curriculum
The Ross MBA curriculum prepares you to lead by offering a combination of rigorous fundamentals, practical experience, and the freedom to explore. Our goal is to provide an educational experience that is not just first-rate, but transformational. We want you to leave with broader aspirations, the tools to achieve them, and the confidence to pursue them.
Focused Learning Opportunities
Ross MBA students are exposed to cutting-edge thought and its applications, both in and out of the classroom, through a range of focused learning opportunities available through the school’s leading institutes and centers. The very opposite of ivory towers, these centers and institutes are committed to practice, experience, and hands-on learning.
